Kid Koala – Live at Maida Vale Studios
by Sensei Sensi on Mar.22, 2011, under Turntablists
When it comes to having fun with records Kid Koala is your man, er.. or bear or marsupial. Either way not many people can grab your grandparents record collection and then proceed to make some the greatest trip hop and jazz beats in a fashion denies belief. Recorded for Radio 6 so please sit back, relax and enjoy
Kid Koala and crew are presently touring their Space Cadet Headphone concert and are happy to come play as long as can help them find a suitable venue.

The Bridge – Perform Your Beats with Ableton Live and Serato Scratch Live
by Sensei Sensi on Mar.22, 2011, under Ableton
I’m a big fan of Ableton – let’s just get that out there straight away. I have been in many an online ‘discussion’ as to what the best music software is to use. The answer is which ever one you’re using.
However….the one thing that truly sets Ableton Live apart is that you can jam with it! You can remix your tracks on the fly. Record and sample right there on stage if you’re feeling brave. It’s almost like DJing in a way but without limitations. Then Ableton go and do something amazing, again. They bridge Serato and allow you to automate and loop using control discs or even your lunch, probably. In fact, Ableton Live can probably automate your lunch and turn it into a electro track.
There is no limit.
